| Standing Committees Duties of Board of Directors Officers - Community Lay Director. The Community Lay Director shall serve a term of one (1) year and conduct all board meeting. Following his/her term of office he/she will become the immediate past Lay Director and serve as an Ex Offico member for one year.
- Secretary. The Secretary shall take minutes at all board meetings, keep an accurate roster, and do all correspondence for the board.
- Treasurer. The Treasurer shall collect all monies, make deposits, pay all debts, and submit a written report detailing income and expenses at all FCEC board meetings. The end of year report review & audit occurs by someone besides a board member.
- Community Spiritual Director. The Community Spiritual Director shall lead the spiritual life of the FCEC, the Board and will be responsible for communion at board meetings and FCEC gatherings. The Spiritual Director shall maintain a list of eligible Spiritual Directors within the geographical area for the weekend Walk to Emmaus. He/She will serve on the team selection committee and the nominating committee.
Standing Committees - Nominating. This committee shall consist of one (1) board member, three (3) members of the FCEC at large and the Spiritual Director. Members will serve a one (1) year term. A slate of nominees will be presented at the September board meeting. Ballots shall go out to the membership by November 1 and be returned by December I
- Team Selection. This committee shall be organized and operate as provided for in the Bylaws of the FCEC, Article VIII Section 5.
- Gatherings. This committee shall be responsible for scheduling the site chosen for the gathering, date, and obtaining a Fourth Day Speaker. The committee shall also be responsible for coordinating with someone from the church where the gathering is held regarding the need for tables, chairs, snacks, communion elements, etc.
- Registration. This committee shall be responsible for the registration of the pilgrims for each Walk weekend, being in contact with sponsors and pilgrims before each Walk weekend, and coordination with the Database Committee furnishing them with current pilgrim rosters from each Walk.
- Facility set-up/Breakdown. This committee will assist in the set-up and breakdown of the conference room and chapel at Walk sites, including TV, VCR, and audio equipment. Possible assistance may be needed for setting up the weekend prayer chapel. Volunteer.
- Agape. This committee will assist in informing the community of the need of agape for upcoming Walks, will gather the agape from local communities, if needed, and deliver the agape to the Walk site. The committee will assist in the set-up of the agape room. Agape consists of pillow and table agape, prayer agape, and acts of loving service to the team and pilgrims. This committee will also be responsible for amenities at meals for weekend Walks, including these possibilities: candlelight agape feast, Saturday evening meal, Sunday a.m. breakfast, Sunday travel food, and other assistance as requested by the weekend Walk Lay Director. Duties will include set-up and clean up. Volunteer.
- Group Reunions/Follow-up. This committee will provide opportunities for sponsors to get reunion groups going, and will follow-up on all reunion groups, possibly twice a year to see if there is a need or if any have disbanded.
- Supplies/Literature/Book Table. This committee will assist in obtaining all the necessary supplies for each Emmaus Walk, ordering the needed manuals and literature for team training and weekends (including purple worship books, reunion cards, crosses, etc., and working with each Emmaus weekend to make sure the needed books for the Weekend Book Table are purchased and ready before the Emmaus Walks. Volunteer.
- Newsletter/Database. This committee will be responsible for the production and mailing of a regular newsletter to all members of the Four Comers Emmaus Community. This committee will also assist in keeping a current address list of the members of the community along with an accurate record of their team service. This committee will work closely with team selection in furnishing the necessary information before each Team Selection meeting.
- Music/Entertainment. This committee will be responsible for music at all Gatherings, whether in person or by designation, music for weekend Walks, Candlelight worship, closing worship, and making sure that there is entertainment at Saturday dinner. Volunteer.
- Candlelight/Sponsors Hour. This committee will be responsible for securing needed items for luminarias (sack, votive candles, sand), set up by a plan decided upon by the weekend Lay Director, clean-up of same; and worship for the candlelight service, working with the Spiritual Director and musicians. The committee will also be responsible for Sponsor's hour on Thursday evening at Send-off time. Volunteer.
- Behind-The-Scenes-Support. This committee will help in the coordination of the selection of an Outside Team Coordinator for each Walk Weekend, help him or her in their functions, helping with any necessary transportation of team and pilgrims for a Walk weekend, and help recruit individuals to assist Outside Team Coordinator on weekends. Volunteer.
- Prayer Vigil. This committee will be responsible for the 72-hour prayer vigil for all weekend Walks. Volunteer.
- Community Training. This committee shall be responsible for leading, coordinating and producing community training for, but not limited to, future Lay and Spiritual Directors, team membership, sponsoring, board membership, reunion groups, with training to take place as soon after a set of Walks as possible.
- Website. This committee will be responsible for creating and updating a website for the community.
